The Tree of Life series is a set of hand-built earthenware candle sticks decorated with painted bugs, vines and fish intermingling with pinched flowers, animal heads and human faces. I paint and attach these to the piece as I reflect on the interconnectedness of all living things and attempt to unriddle the inequality of our social order and anguish over our inescapable destiny.
